Domestic Violence Awareness Month
October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM), a time to raise awareness and inspire action to end domestic violence. Across the U.S., 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have experienced physical violence from an intimate partner in their lifetime. On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner, adding up to more than 10 million victims each year.
Throughout October, the Alliance Against Family Violence is hosting a series of events and activities to engage the community, support survivors, and foster education on preventing domestic violence. Join us in standing together to create a safer, healthier community for all.
